Wedding | Kristina and Bret | Pepper Plantation | Awendaw SC

September 10th was one of the most beautiful days I've ever seen in Charleston.  The temperature was comfortable, the sun was warm, the sky was blue and the breeze a silent whisper, perfect wedding day weather.

Kristina and Bret chose to have their perfect wedding at the amazing Pavilion at Pepper Plantation in Awendaw, South Carolina.   The venue is part a private equestrian community and the Pavilion is surrounded by fenced horse pastures.

The couple had their ceremony site facing the tree-lined pond along with a beautiful arbor decorated with lush greens and sunflowers.  Inside the airy barn-like Pavilion,  more sunflowers, white hydrangea and purple iris adorned the guest tables.

Kristina and her bridesmaids got ready before the ceremony in the Cottage.  This cabin-like building is open and bright and the perfect spot for a beautiful bride to dress.

Bret was so happy to see his bride!

After a beautiful ceremony, we did some formal photos at the gazebo at the pond.

After the guests welcomed the new couple, Kristina & Bret joined together for their first dance - "At Last" sung by their close friend Kristen.

As the day's sunlight faded, the garden lights twinkled and the night became a party.  The evening's entertainment was provided by Sons of Bill, an amazing rock and Americana band from Charlottesville, Virginia.  Kristina and Bret are friends with the band and I must say, these guys rocked it out!!  Everyone was on the floor dancing!

The evening ended with a surprise to the groom.  Kristina surprised Bret, a HUGE Star Wars fan, with a Light Saber departure!!  How original is that?!?!  He was so shocked and so happy!  I just LOVE his reaction!!!

The wedding was beautiful, the day magical and I can't thank the wonderful couple enough for letting me be part of their special day. Thank you Kristina and Bret!  I wish you a long a happy life together!
