Wedding | Katie and Clay | Rose Hill Estate | Aiken SC

May 28th was a fantastic day in 2011!  Not only was it warm, sunny and an awesome spring-time day, it was my birthday!  And I got to spend that wonderful day and an equally wonderful wedding!!!

Congratulations to Katie and Clay!!!!  You may remember them from their engagement shoot in Charleston a few months back.  Their garden wedding was held at the Rose Hill Estate in Aiken, South Carolina - an amazing historical winter home for the colonial rich and famous back in the day.  Now its a B&B and wedding venue.  The estate takes up and entire city block and boasts a picturesque bed and breakfast in the main house and lush gardens that were in full bloom for the late May wedding!

The ceremony was held at the garden gazebo under a huge Ginkgo Tree (which happens to be a symbol for longevity, hope and unity, wow!!)  After the ceremony, we walked the grounds for some fantastic photo ops!  The reception was held in various rooms inside the main house and some guests had tables in the courtyard outside.

After dances, cake cutting and speeches, this reception got funky - everyone was dancing!!  Clay even serenaded his new wife with a spot-on rockin' rendition of the song 'Strokin' by Clarence Carter!  Woo!!! I know I blushed!!!

Everyone had a great time, and so did I!  There was even a round of 'Happy Birthday' sung for me an another guest whose birthday it was!

Thanks to Katie and Clay for having a fantastic wedding to shoot on my birthday!!!  Congrats again!!!

Check out the slideshow too!!
